Privacy Policy

RewordIt is built with privacy in mind. We collect the minimum data necessary to provide the service and do not sell, share, or monetize your personal information.

What we collect

If you use the built-in RewordIt AI provider:

Email address — used for authentication. We send a login link to verify your identity. We do not send marketing emails.
Text you submit for rewriting — sent to our server to process with our AI model. Your text is not stored after the response is returned.
Usage count — we track the number of rewrite requests for billing purposes.
Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store your card details.

If you use your own API key (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Ollama, or custom):

Your text is sent directly from your device to your chosen provider. RewordIt does not see or store your text.
Your API key is stored locally in your device's Keychain and is never sent to RewordIt servers.

What we store on your device

Settings — provider choice, model, base URL, temperature, and rewrite profiles are stored in UserDefaults on your device.
API keys and auth tokens — stored in the system Keychain, encrypted by the operating system.

Third-party services

Stripe — for payment processing. See Stripe's privacy policy.
LLM providers — if you use your own API key, your text is sent to the provider you configure. Each provider has its own privacy policy.

Analytics

The RewordIt app does not include any analytics or tracking SDKs. The rewordit.app website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookie-free and does not track individual users.

Data retention

Text submitted for rewriting via the built-in RewordIt AI is processed in real time and not stored. Your email and usage count are retained as long as your account exists. You can delete your account by contacting us.

Children's privacy

RewordIt is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
